Divisions of Play
Division placement is determined by a combination of variables including player league age, skill level, prior league experience, prior coach recommendation, Little League guidelines, and parent input. Final placement is determined by the ATLL Player Agent. The registration process will ask several questions to help us determine the correct division for your child based on these variables. Helpful information is available here: Divisions of Play
Little League Age
We offer many programs for ages 4-16. Please refer to the League Age determination chart as Little League International has recently made changes to the League Age Definition which could impact your child’s age for the spring season. Baseball League Age Chart
Special Division Requests
When registering, select the age appropriate division. If you want to request for your son or daughter to be eligible to “play up” in an older division, enter that request in the special request section on the registration form. Please note, however, that limited play up requests will be granted as our experience over many years has shown that players benefit more from being in an age appropriate division as opposed to possibly having to compete for playing time and not pitching in an older division. Likewise, enter “play down” requests in the special request section.
ATLL reserves the right to reassign a player to a division other than the one in which he or she is originally registered or requested by his parent. This is done for a variety of reasons: safety, the need for equal teams, for the development of any one particular child, to ensure that each division has the requisite number of players, or for the general well-being of the league as a whole.
Friend Requests
Friend requests shall be taken into account when making a decision, but is not the only criteria for placement. You can identify up to 3 players with whom your player would like to play baseball. DO NOT list any other requests. It is highly recommended you include at least one friend, who is not the child of a manager or coach, to achieve best results.
Player Evaluations
In an effort to create parity across our league, ATLL utilizes player evaluations. You will be askes to provide an objective assessment of your player's abilities during the registration process. These ratings are used for no purpose other than as a tool to help attempt to balance teams, and there is no advantage/disadvantage given to a Player based on the evaluation.
Field Locations
Our baseball teams play on Anderson Park District fields and Forest Hills School District fields. A full list of field locations is available here: Field Locations/Descriptions
